How to register your mobile with PTA online?

According to PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) all illegal mobile phones must be registered with PTA. But, the residents of Pakistan must register their illegal mobile phone with PTA and according to notice this it is compulsory. This process will be done online and it will not take enough time.

However, any mobile phone, which is not registered with PTA will be blocked. In case your mobile phone is not PTA approved then you have to do this immediately. But, here, we have full detailed article regarding this issue. This article will provide full detail about how to register your mobile phone with PTA.

How checking your mobile phone registration?

PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) offers a toll-free number that is 8484 and through this any individual can check registration of his mobile phone with PTA. So, it is very simple and easy just type IMEI in your mobile phone in the message and send it to 8484.

Then, you will receive message from 8484 that whether your mobile phone is approved or not with PTA. However, individuals can also check this though this website dirbs.pta.gov.pk.

The following message will come from 8484 PTA.

1. The device IMEI is complaint (PTA approved). This mean your device is register with PTA.
2. The device IMEI is not-complaint, but user can use the network service. But, this issue can resolve through SMS or phone call.
3. The device IMEI is blocked. This mean your mobile phone is blocked by PTA and user cannot use mobile phone in Pakistan. But, user will pay the taxes on illegal mobile phone and then he will allow using that particular mobile phone.

The blocked IMEI message from PTA needs to register your mobile phone. Here, we have three following methods.

1. Method via USSD code.

These are few steps to register your phone via *8484#.
1. First, dial *8484# from your cell phone.
2. The, press “1” for mobile registration.
3. If you are Pakistan national, then reply with “1” and press “2” if you are an overseas.
4. Reply again with “1” if it is your first device to register. So, the first device will register free of cost.
5. Type your CNIC and passport number.
6. Provide the number of SIM slots your mobile phone has.
7. Type IMEI number of your cell phone and if cell phone is dual SIM phone, then provide both IMEIs.
8. Reply with “1” to fulfill the registration request.
In case all provided information is correct then you will receive message from 8484. If your provided information is not correct, then you will repeat this process with correct credentials.

2. Method via DIRBS.

Register your cell phone via DIRBS through given steps.
1. Visit http://dirbs.pta.gov.pk.
2. Login through your account and if you do not have, then create it first.
3. To create an account there is a Form and it requires different information to complete the form.
4. Pick the purpose and then select the user type like native or foreigner.
5. Provide personal information like email, passport number, phone number and residential address and then sign-up.
6. You will get confirmation link through email and click on it to confirm your account.
7. Then, sign in to your account. There is a declaration window and check the “individual COC” option. Click on “apply for COC”.
8. Give your IMEI number and contact number.
9. You will receive message from PTA whether pay tax for your mobile phone or not.
10. In case you want to check the status of your application then click on “my application”.

3. Method via mobile application (only for android)

1. Download the PTA App from the Google play store by clicking the given link.
2. Open the app after installation.
3. Enter your IMEI number and follow the given instructions.
