Hungary Introduces New Residence Permit for Digital Nomads according to news. The Hungarian government has launched a new residence permit for digital nomads called “White Cards”. That permits foreigners to live in Hungary while working for a company outside that country.

The white card can use by foreigners who meet the following requirements:
1. Have a valid work contract in countries outside of Hungary.
2. Participate in a commercial company in a country other than Hungary.
3. The applicant does not operate a profitable business based in Hungary and does not own shares in any company based in Hungary.
In November, the Hungarian parliament approved the introduction of a temporary residence permit that will benefit digital nomads. Following the example of other European countries that already offer such opportunities for digital nomads, since non-EU nomads are citizens of countries.
Third-country nationals whose “use of advanced digital technology allows them to carry out their work from anywhere” are eligible to apply for a “white card”. That allows for a residence permit in Hungary for one year and is granted likely to be extended for an additional year.
In November, Hungary, with 134 votes in favor and 54 against, approved the White Card bill. In addition to Hungary, many other European countries have begun to offer digital nomads such opportunities to make the travel process more attractive, profitable and flexible.
